Steven is  a dynamic reader and speaker, and an accomplished teacher who enjoys talking with both undergraduate and graduate students about writing and publishing. His background as a writer, editor, professor, and parent--as well as someone who created a nationally recognized literary magazine from scratch--gives him a variety of experiences in the literary life.

Steven has conducted workshops and discussions at writing conferences across the country and around the world, including Madrid, Spain; San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; and Edinburgh, Scotland. 

Online Visits:

Steven is also available for Skype, Video, or Text Chats with students who are reading and studying his book(s) in a class, provided that participants can work around his schedule and the time differences between Fresno, California and the class location.
